Yasmine Talks Shop: The Autumn Equinox Collection

Welcome back to Yasmine Talks Shop!

Now that Rey and I have finally managed to squeeze in a little bit of summer I am finally ready to acknowledge the inevitability of Fall. The Autumn Equinox Collection is my way of easing into the changing season, while still accommodating those of you who are pounding back the pumpkin spice lattes and dreaming of colourful foliage. I’m not there yet, but I might be in October. *Wink-wink*

For this collection we’re bringing back three classics in new colours:

  • The Riot A-line Skirt

The Rock Lobster is one of our tried and true pieces. For those unfamiliar, this top is made with OEKO-TEX certified fabric. We love it for its softness, colour retention, and excellent wash-and-wear properties. Although we typically opt for warmer tones, feedback from a spring poll indicated a desire for cooler shades so we decided to produce the Rock Lobster in black and  teal – a cool shade that still radiates enough warmth to prevent us from looking washed out during the upcoming winter months. This teal pairs beautifully with any of our essential bottoms, be it the Cinnamon East Side or the new Riot or Respects from this collection.

The Riot skirt is a contemporary take on our classic A-line skirts. The beautiful deadstock denim I discovered at the beginning of the year offers a perfect blend of firmness and stretch. The brass snaps down the front are a nod to classic denim. Designed to transition from warmer months to cooler ones, this skirt looks great with tights and without. It’s been a while since we’ve launched a short skirt so I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Lustre Lovelies style it.

Finally, the Respect pants! These pants were first introduced in 2022 and we have had such a positive response that we’re bringing them back in navy and restocking the original olive green. The new navy velour gives the Respect pants a nautical feel. They have the look of 70s high-waisted dark denim, but are sophisticated enough to be suitable for both work and events.

What I love most about this premium deadstock Italian velour is its durability. I have altered pants from the very first batch we made and was very pleasantly surprised to see how well the fabric holds up in high friction areas like the inner thigh. I would be remiss if I did not mention my favourite design element of this garment: The Bloat Buttons. Most of our pants have elastic in the back belt for ease of wear, but that wasn't possible with this design. I added a second set of buttons on the closure belt so that you can tighten or relax the waist to suit your needs.

Stay comfy Lustre Lovelies!
