A few months ago, I did some polls on Instagram to see if you all wanted another loungewear line for summer, and it was clear that you did. As summer rolled in, I was so happy I started designing this line with our Organic cotton waffle because I found the fabric was perfect for cottage weekends with friends and sweaty days.
The organic cotton waffle has become my favourite post-shower, post-pool, and post-beach fabric. It doesn’t get heavy and sticky when it gets wet and stays breathable on the hottest of days.
One of my favourite pieces from the first run of this line is our bathrobe-cardigan Lost in The Woods. I use it daily at home as it’s the perfect bathrobe for the reasons noted above. I also enjoyed having it on a recent cottage weekend as a pool cover-up and an extra layering piece as the sun goes down. We brought back the classic ultramarine and added a touch of freshness with the new sage colour.
It’s clear that we had to bring back the On a Plain jogger, too, as it’s so comfy and is a staple in our loungewear collection.
Bonus! It protects you from bug bites without overheating!
The third part of the organic waffle cotton puzzle--for me as well as for you--was a summer alternative to the Moment of Bliss jumpsuit! For this reason, I created the Hi-Five romper! Things to love about this romper: super comfortable and breathable, easy to slip on and off for quick bathroom trips, and a cute silhouette while feeling like you’re wearing pyjamas.
This romper can go over a bathing suit with slides to a night out on a terrasse with clogs. It has a higher neckline, similar to our Cecilia tee, but with an open back that holds up the thick straps with an elastic (that slips off easily as it stretches). The shorts are the perfect length to sit in a park and give this romper the silhouette of a vintage tennis dress.
Talking about a tennis dress (or, for me, yoga dress--I just layer some shorts under), we’re adding a second colour to the Ziggy Stardust, also known as the Starman dress. This orange with a red tint pops and looks great on all skin tones.
At last, I squeezed in a resort dress. I found this breezy deadstock viscose and couldn’t resist. I wanted to bring in an airy dress, so I mixed the silhouettes from our slip dress with the ease of an old Lustre classic: The Ghost Town dress, a more streamlined maxi dress with two slits in the skirt.
For the Only Skin dress, you have tied straps (cute and practical) and these side openings. The belt at the waist is optional. Perfect for a hot summer day and, of course, to throw over your bathing suit. (It is the poolside collection, after all.)
This will be our last summer collection for 2021. For August, we will be focusing on refilling a lot of our basics and preparing for fall.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as we do!!!!
