Yasmine Talks Shop: May 2021

I don’t know about you but Spring has been rough. It’s probably the COVID fatigue mixed in with the yoyo of April in Montreal. But now that the curfew is after the sun goes down and we can feel the relief of summer I’m feeling energy flowing back. This collection was the anti-depressants I needed to get through the last couple of weeks. I wanted to design things that were 100% undeniably happy. Yasmine Talks Shop: April 2021

For our first Spring collection of 2021 (launching tomorrow morning, April 14, 2021, at 9 AM EST), I wanted to offer pieces that you’ll be able to wear, whether it’s 5 degrees or 25. Every garment in this collection is made of beautiful natural fabrics, including more linen and viscose blends and two new materials from the same supplier that brought you our super soft, sustainable French Terry. For summer, we bring you an organic cotton...

One of the items on our Lustre Projects list this year was utilizing some of our “double deadstock” fabric. (Double deadstock: the deadstock fabric we have had sitting in our atelier long enough that it has essentially become deadstock for us on top of its original deadstock designation.) Some of you know how much I love searching for treasures in Montreal fabric warehouses--finding beautiful vintage deadstock fabrics--but after 15 years, we now have a studio full of fabric. Some are small amounts leftover from designs we made 10 years ago, while others are rolls we purchased and sampled with but never went into production. All that to say, one of my goals is to include at least one garment made...
